AWS
Amazon is an e-commerce and web services company based in Seattle, Washington. It was one of the first major companies to sell goods over the Internet and was one of the iconic stocks of the late 1990s dot-com bubble. More recently it has made a foray into web services starting with the Simple Storage Service (S3) and following with the Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2). EC2 is a a virtual site farm, allowing users to use the Amazon infrastructure with its high reliability to run diverse applications ranging from running simulations to web hosting. It allows scalable deployment of applications. Current users are able to create, launch and terminate server instances on-demand. Amazon is the leader in cloud computing.
